Rawlplug products as part of the transformation of a historic building in Bucharest

Our anchors and fastenings were used to transform a 1930s building into a modern office complex. In the very heart of Bucharest, the Belgians from Atenor carried out an exceptional project. They managed to turn the ruins of a historic interwar building into a beautiful property featuring top-standard office spaces. The design of the building blends perfectly with its surroundings.

Rawlplug anchors in curtain walls and facade

The general contractor, KESZ, completed this complex project within the planned timeframe for its new tenant, ING High Tech Hub. The project was handled by the team at Aluplan Design, who, together with an engineer from Rawlplug, found the perfect solution for securing the building’s curtain walls. They selected Rawlplug R-HPTII-ZF anchors for this purpose.

The facade work, on the other hand, was carried out by one of the largest players in the Romanian facade market – Alusystem. They used over 45,000 of our R-HPTII-ZF-12120 anchors in this project. Constant support during these renovation works was provided by Rawlplug’s Alexandru Ludvig, who also conducted pull-out tests and trained contractors on-site.

Reinforcing old walls with Rawlplug anchors

Our products were also used for the consolidation of old walls. In this case, Rawlplug R-KER-II anchors and our direct fastening system, including SC-40II, R-SC40-PCS, and R-SC40-CBS, were applied. These solutions were also used by the company responsible for electrical installation work.

A comprehensive approach

Rawlplug’s comprehensive product range allowed our solutions to be implemented at various stages of the extensive renovation of the building in Bucharest. We reinforced not only the curtain walls but also the old, preserved structural walls and the building’s facade.
