Nikola Tesla Airport – Serbia’s modern air gateway
Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade is the largest airport in Serbia and one of the most important aviation hubs in Southeast Europe. Located just 18 km from the city centre, the airport serves over 6 million passengers annually and plays a strategic role in the regional transport network.
In 2018, airport operations were taken over by VINCI Airports, which launched a large-scale infrastructure upgrade. The works, initiated in early 2020, are carried out by the VINCI Construction Grands Projets and GEK Terna Group joint venture.
Comprehensive expansion of terminal and infrastructure
The development includes a new 42,000 m² passenger terminal, additional aircraft parking aprons, an expanded duty-free zone, a new gas-powered trigeneration plant, and extensive energy-saving systems. The project also covers the renovation of runways and taxiways and the construction of a 1 MWp solar power plant.
Once completed in 2024, the airport’s annual capacity is expected to grow to 15 million passengers.

- R-XPT throughbolt anchors,
- HV bolts for structural applications.
Technical reliability and on-site support
The implementation of Rawlplug solutions in such a large-scale infrastructure project confirms the brand’s ability to deliver technical reliability, on-site consulting, and consistent product performance. All supplied systems meet the durability, weather resistance and safety standards required in critical transportation facilities.
