Parc Olympique Lyonnais – the home of Olympique Lyonnais with Rawlplug technology
Also known as Stade des Lumières, this modern stadium with a capacity of 59,186 seats has been the home of Olympique Lyonnais since 2016.
Built in Décines-Charpieu, a suburb of Lyon, it serves not only as a sports venue but also as a recreational hub, combining functionality with innovative technological solutions.
History and vision – from project to completion
In 2008, Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas announced plans for a new stadium, initially called OL Land. The project, approved by the French government, envisioned not only a stadium but an entire sports complex, including hotels, a recreation center, and office spaces.
Interesting fact! Parc Olympique Lyonnais is more than just a stadium. The complex features state-of-the-art sports facilities, two hotels, and a recreation center. It was one of the host venues for UEFA Euro 2016 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019. Thanks to its versatility, it also attracts non-sporting events, such as concerts and conferences. |

Construction of the stadium began in 2013 and was completed in early 2016. The first match at Parc Olympique Lyonnais was played on January 9, 2016, when Olympique Lyon defeated Troyes 4-1 in Ligue 1.
Rawlplug technology at Parc Olympique Lyonnais
During the stadium’s construction, Rawlplug’s advanced solutions were used to securely install 60,000 seats. The project utilized:
- R-KER vinyl ester bonded anchors (now known as R-KER-II),
- internally threaded wedge anchors,
- 14,000 R-XPT-10080 throughbolt anchors.
