S7 highway in Poland section
The S7 expressway investment project is based on the premises that not only is it going to be the longest expressway in Poland, but also one of the most significant routes. We are glad to have contributed to the development of its subsequent section.
The construction of the S7 expressway is not only a milestone in the modernisation of the country's road infrastructure but, above all, a significant convenience for drivers frequently travelling between the northern and southern parts of Poland. The planned 706 km route from Gdańsk to Rabka-Zdrój is set to revolutionise connections between major urban areas (while also reducing traffic on existing national roads), accelerating development, and enhancing the investment appeal of previously less accessible regions.
The mentioned Mława–Strzegowo section (part of the larger Olsztynek–Płońsk segment) is located in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the Mława County, covering areas belonging to the municipalities of Szydłowo, the city of Mława, Wiśniewo, Stupsk, and Strzegowo. The road has been designed along a new corridor, to the east of the existing DK7.
Once all the necessary permits had been procured at the end of 2019, the prestigious investment project (the total value of the contract amounted to PLN 446,164,736.81, including the EU funding of PLN 1,043,836,933.77) continued at lightning speed. Only two years later, the contractor comprising a consortium of PORR S.A. and PORR Bau GmbH, rendered the main carriageways to traffic on a temporary basis, and all the work was completed in December 2022.
We are glad that the contractor of an investment that was so demanding in terms of safety and quality decided to reach out for Rawlplug’s products, which had proved their reliability under similar projects. The footpath slabs and protective screens along the aforementioned section of the S7 expressway have been anchored using the R-KEX II high-quality epoxy resin-based bonded anchors along with the R-STUDS rods.
