Sustainability Report 2023: building a shared future
Rawlplug's 2023 Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with ESRS standards and the CSRD. It presents the results of monitoring our environmental, employee and social impacts on the way to the full implementation of the Net Zero strategy. We look forward to reading it!
"Dear Readers,
I am pleased to present our 2023 Sustainability Report.
I would like to share our perspective on the challenges we had to tackle in the past year, along with our approach to the opportunities that lie ahead.
In the past year, our organisation faced a number of difficulties that required us to be flexible, creative, and determined. The dynamic and highly volatile nature of demand for our products as well as changes on the market required rapid adaptation and flexibility to adjust manufacturing to the new conditions. In addition, high energy costs put pressure on our profitability. Nevertheless, the measures we implemented with regard to energy efficiency and the search for alternative energy sources allowed us to mitigate this impact and to keep our products competitive.
Rawlplug’s approach to opportunities over the past year was proactive and strategic. We used the stabilisation of raw material prices and the stable foreign exchange rates as an opportunity to strengthen our market position and to develop innovative products. Despite the new challenges and the difficult environment, our long-term sustainability goals remain unchanged. As a socially committed organisation consistently implementing our ESG strategy, we will continue to actively support our customers, business partners, and employees.
Our commitment manifests itself through programmes and initiatives, as well as work placements and traineeships addressed also to children and young people wishing to develop their professional skills. We offer our employees’ children free of charge educational opportunities at the Children’s University in Wrocław.
We have been working with biologists and scientists to revitalise nature and create biodegradable and recyclable products. We have been improving waste management processes and supporting environmentally friendly construction.
We have been creating energy innovations, such as our ice battery, and building modular energy storage facilities to store surplus energy. In addition, we have been managing water sparingly and making use of rainwater. We have been investing in afforestation initiatives to actively compensate for and neutralise our carbon footprint, demonstrating responsibility and commitment to the long-term protection of our planet.
In Kożuchów, we launched the first zero-emission logistics centre with a surface area of 20,000 square metres, and many more similar ones are in the pipeline. We look to the future with great enthusiasm and we are ready for the further challenges and opportunities that 2024 will bring.
I would like to thank you for your continuing commitment and support, which are of key importance for our success."
