Flood situation. How are we securing our plant in Wrocław?
We would like to extend a special thank you to our Employees - the silent heroes who volunteer their time to provide security. We would also like to extend our immense gratitude to our customers who selflessly assist by accepting our goods into their warehouses outside the danger zone.
We have already been through this once - in 1997, so we take the existing threat very seriously. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the entire team and the coordination of the Crisis Management Team, we are continuously monitoring developments and implementing all necessary measures to ensure both the safety and seamless operation of our company. We are confident that, together, we will manage this challenging period with the utmost responsibility and composure.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our Employees - the silent heroes who volunteer their time to provide security. Your help is invaluable and gives us all support and a sense of pride in this challenging situation.
We would also like to extend our immense gratitude to our customers who selflessly assist by accepting our goods into their warehouses outside the danger zone. Thanks to their support, several hundred pallets are now secure. Your solidarity, openness, and willingness to help demonstrate the strength of our partnership – thank you very much!
Safety is our absolute priority, which is why we have implemented a number of safeguards. Although the list of measures is extensive, we are providing the most important ones for full transparency:
- Preparation of flood barriers – we have already used 70 tonnes of sand for water protection, which amounts to over 2,000 sandbags, additionally reinforced with special fabric.
- Relocation of PWT 70 warehouse – the contents of the PWT 70 warehouse have been relocated to protect the goods from damage.
- Relocation of manual assembly by the Maintenance Department from the former chemical division to the production hall.
- Securing the warehouse – organising the storage of goods and materials at higher levels to minimize the risk of damage in the event of flooding in lower areas
- Preparation and clearing of areas around the site – clearing and removing unsecured items to prevent them from being displaced.
- Contamination prevention – moving the manufacturing components to higher levels to minimise any potential contact with water.
- Constant inspection of systems and installations for draining rainwater from the site – including regular checks and cleaning of manholes, drains, and gutters to ensure they are unobstructed.
- Support from the R5PL team and the Volunteer Fire Brigade from Kożuchów – including the involvement of additional teams from our logistics centre
- Protecting the environment and ensuring safe spaces for wildlife – preparing areas on-site where wildlife can seek refuge in the event of flooding
- Redirecting as many employees as possible to work from home tomorrow (19th-20th September) to reduce the number of people and vehicles on the company premises.
- Preparing backup energy sources and securing data and IT equipment – ensuring continuity of operations and communication.
All the work is coordinated by our Crisis Management Team.
