Rawlplug products on the roof of the modern CeNT at the University of Warsaw!
At Rawlplug, we believe that innovation begins with solid foundations. That’s why we are proud to have supported the construction of the University of Warsaw’s Centre of New Technologies (CeNT) – a place where science meets practical applications, and ideas turn into reality.
CeNT is an extraordinary space at the University of Warsaw, where various fields of science come together to develop innovative solutions. Its mission is to inspire new ideas and support future leaders who use their knowledge and skills to shape the world of science and business.
CeNT’s purpose and mission
CeNT was created with the future in mind – to provide young researchers and students with access to advanced educational infrastructure that fosters the acquisition of knowledge and practical skills. At the same time, the centre addresses the needs of the economy by supporting the development of specialists in crucial technological fields and enhancing the country’s competitiveness by educating experts to meet the challenges of today’s job market.
Did you know? Scientists at CeNT are pushing the boundaries of science!
- A team led by Prof. W. Grochala discovered a completely new type of nanorod, paving the way for further advancements in nanotechnology. The results of their work were published in the prestigious Dalton Transactions journal.
- A research group from CeNT, including Dr. Michał Świerniak, Dr. Anna Wójcicka, and Prof. Krystian Jażdżewski, developed a new method for more effective thyroid cancer diagnosis, enabling the identification of patients at high risk of severe disease progression.
What scientific fields are developed at CeNT laboratories?
The laboratories at the Centre of New Technologies conduct research in physics, chemistry, biology, and information sciences, bridging disciplines in interdisciplinary projects. Their activities also include seminars, thesis work, and doctoral research.
Key research areas at CeNT include:
- molecular biology,
- structural analysis,
- synthesis and development of new materials,
- ecology and evolution,
- physics and
- computational sciences.
The role of Rawlplug products
Rawlplug products have also found their place in the modern Centre of New Technologies, supporting its mission of innovation. Thanks to our advanced fixing solutions (washers and roofing screws), the CeNT roof structure has achieved exceptional quality, meeting the highest technical standards and aligning with the centre’s vision as a hub for driving scientific and technological progress.
- Round steel washer R-POK – made from zinc-aluminium-coated steel, it offers exceptional corrosion resistance. Its sculpted design and embossing ensure easy installation with dedicated screws, providing rigid fixing of hard roof insulation. Approved for various substrates, including concrete, steel, timber, and plywood.
- R-WBT roofing screw – designed for concrete substrates, this screw features a double-thread design for effortless installation in concrete and wood. Its hardened surface and high-quality anti-corrosion coating withstand 15 Kesternich cycles. The specially designed drill point ensures fast installation and prevents displacement on the material surface.
Project details
The construction of CeNT began in 2010 and was completed three years later, in the second half of 2013. CeNT spans over 22,000 square meters, with more than 18,000 square meters of functional space designed to host advanced scientific research.
