Site test of fixings - R-KEM-II chemical anchor and R-STUDS rod
At the request of the client, we tested the practical strength of one of our TOP products - the R-KEM-II chemical anchor in combination with dedicated R-STUDS rods. See the results!
As required by the site manager, we carried out a standard test with a pull-out tester on site for the ongoing renovation work to replace the canopies over the entrances to the building. The subject of the test was the combination of our top-of-the-line R-KEM-II chemical anchor with dedicated R-STUDS-10170-FL threaded rods.

The R-KEM-II chemical anchor is the most versatile general purpose chemical anchor, ideal for applications where mechanical anchoring is not possible. A styrene-free polyester chemical anchor recommended for medium loads, it is suitable for use in most building substrates (ETA certified for 15 types of building substrates). Available in three versions - standard, summer and winter - the latter has been adapted for temperatures above -20°C. Easy to dispense, thanks to a patented self-opening system and the use of manual or electric dispensers.
R-STUDS metric threaded rods have been designed for use with chemical anchors. These bars are part of a high load anchoring system - providing very good strength and wear resistance. They are also suitable for less typical applications such as dowel connections and wall-to-foundation connections - after consultation with a technical advisor.

According to ETA-21/0243 the declared characteristic load capacity for the minimum anchorage depth of the R-STUDS 5.8 bar in size M10 using the chemical anchor R-KEM-II in concrete is 14.3 kN. According to ETA-12/0528, the declared characteristic load capacity of R-STUDS 5.8 bar in size M10 using R-KEM-II chemical anchor in 20MPa solid brick is 7 kN, for 6MPa aerated concrete is 2 kN.
