Setting tools for mechanical anchors - faster installation in concrete
Quick and trouble-free installation of anchors in concrete? SDS plus setting tools are a new addition to the range of accessories that facilitate the installation of a mechanical anchor – throughbolt anchors or drop-in anchors with internal thread - in hard materials using power tools.
Mechanical anchors are the types of anchors most often chosen for strong and durable installation in hard concrete substrates. The choice of mechanical anchors is supported by their advantages, such as high load capacity of the anchor, the possibility of loading immediately after installation or insensitivity to the variability of external conditions during installation. If we add to this quick and trouble-free installation, we get an ideal fastening that significantly speeds up construction work and gives unlimited installation possibilities.
The correct use of the anchor must be supported by proper installation. To the range of accessories supporting the quick and efficient installation of mechanical anchors, we add new SDS plus installation tools for throughbolt anchors and drop-in anchors with internal threads. The use of installation tools is one of the most effective ways to increase productivity, improve assembly precision and reduce physical effort.
Both the RT-SDSI-MA setting tool for throughbolt anchors and the RT-SDSI-WA setting tool for drop-in anchors are equipped with the SDS plus handle, which guarantees the compatibility of the accessories with all SDS plus rotary hammers available on the market.
Steel throughbolt anchor – setting tool RT-SDSI-MA
A mechanical throughbolt anchor is a fastening consisting of a pin and a profiled cone located at its end. The ring on the cone locks during installation, fixing the entire anchor. After drilling and cleaning the hole for the mechanical throughbolt anchor in the hammer drill socket, place a new RT-SDSI-MA steel troughtbolt anchor setting tool, which allows you to conveniently drive the anchor into the prepared substrate.
RT-SDSI-MA nai-actuated tool for steel throughbolt anchors - main advantages:
- The profile of the face of the fastening tool allows for efficient setting of R-HPT anchor and R-XPT anchor sizes from M8 to M16, without the need to precisely select the tool for the anchor size.
- The SDS plus handle allows the tool to be used with all SDS plus rotary hammers on the market.
- The fastening tool is made of high-quality 42CrMo4 steel for high resistance to stress and wear.
An important element of the installation of the band anchor is to tighten the nut with the use of the R-HTW-20-100 torque wrench, while maintaining the correct tightening torque - this guarantees optimal ring expansion and achieving the maximum load capacity of the steel anchor.

Steel drop-in anchor with internal thread - RT-SDSI-WA setting tool
The internally threaded drop-in mechanical anchor is equipped with an internal expansion cone. When settling in the ground, the cone expands, which causes the anchor to get stuck in the hole. After drilling and cleaning the hole for the drop-in anchor, place the appropriate size of anchor in it. In the screwdriver's socket, we place the new RT-SDSI-WA drop-in anchor setting tool of the right size, which allows you to conveniently fix the drop-in anchor in the ground. The use of this tool guarantees that the drop-in anchor is seated without damaging its internal thread, and thus that the fastener is prepared for a metric threaded screw.
RT-SDSI-WA setting tools for drop-in anchors with internal thread - main advantages:
- Different tool diameters (6, 8, 10 mm) allow them to be used for R-DCA drop-in anchor and R-DCL drop-in anchor with M8, M10 and M12 internal threads.
- The SDS plus handle allows the tool to be used with all SDS plus rotary hammers on the market.
- The installation tool is made of high-quality 42CrMo4 steel for high resistance to stress and wear.
