Site test - KI-10N, KI-10M polystyrene plugs in aerated concrete
We are testing the fastening of KI-10N facade fixings with a long strut zone and KI-10M facade fixings with a hammer-in pin for a housing development contractor.
Autumn is the period when building finishing work is in full swing, which means action on the facades. At the request of the contractor for the multi-family housing estate, we carried out tests on the construction site in order to select suitable facade fixings.
This time, we used two top-of-the-range polystyrene fixing from the Koelner brand: the KI-10N 120 mm long expansion zone hammer-in facade fixing and the KI-10M 120 mm hammer-in facade fixing with metal pin. The result? Perfect fastening, ideal for the installation of thermal insulation on the facades of buildings made of aerated concrete (cellular concrete). Both types of fixings for polystyrene and mineral wool are characterised by a design that ensures high stability of the insulation system against wind suction forces. Recommended for insulation installation, they reduce thermal transmittance and provide an aesthetically pleasing facade surface.
Rawlplug offers professional on-site testing services for fastenings. Site testing can be carried out both during the design phase, to determine the load-bearing capacity of the substrate and select the optimum fixing system, and after installation.
